    The OTSI Legal Division is authorized to accept service of process on behalf of the OTSI. OTSI Legal Division staff are not present in the office on all days due to their work schedules. Therefore, you are encouraged to contact the OTSI Legal Division prior to attempting to serve legal documents to ensure OTSI Legal Division staff can be present to accept service and to confirm that OTSI Legal is authorized to accept service. For example, OTSI Legal cannot accept service with respect to its employee’s personal matters.

    Documents and subpoenas directed to the “State of California” must be served on the Office of the Attorney General. You may find more information about service on the Office of the Attorney General here: https://oag.ca.gov/services-info

    The OTSI reserves the right to reject any documents improperly served. This includes, but is not limited to, where a defect in service is found, where the method of service was improper, or where service was on an improper party.
